Motivational work in the treatment of eating disorders: For health professionals (In French)

Gain knowledge in motivational tools & techniques applied in the treatment of eating disorders.

Overview

This 3hr training is for dietitians, psychologists, psychotherapists and other health practitioners who work with eating disorders and want to learn more about motivational work with this clientele. This training will equip you with tools & techniques to help you get on the same page with your client from the beginning of treatment, maintain therapeutic engagement in the treatment process and address obstacles that may pose a threat to motivation in treatment.

Objectives

  1. Define the questions to ask and information to obtain in order to identify motivators for treatment in the intake process.
  2. Learn psychoeducational tools used to help clients make sense of the eating disorder and facilitate buy-in into treatment.
  3. Understand how to start therapy on the same page as your client, with a shared language around treatment.
  4. Get equipped with tools and techniques that will allow you to identify and capitalise on motivators for treatment.
  5. Learn how to identify and manage barriers to the treatment process.
