Overview

This 3-hour training is designed for dietitians, psychologists, psychotherapists, and other health professionals working with eating disorders who want to deepen their skills in motivational approaches. You’ll gain practical tools and techniques to build early therapeutic alignment, sustain engagement throughout the treatment process, and effectively navigate obstacles that can undermine motivation.

Objectives

  1. Learn how to ask the right questions and gather key information during intake to uncover your client’s unique motivators for treatment.
  2. Gain psychoeducational tools to help clients better understand their eating disorder and foster meaningful engagement in the treatment process.
  3. Establish a strong therapeutic foundation by creating shared language and alignment with your client from the very first session.
  4. Acquire practical techniques to identify, strengthen, and build upon motivators throughout the course of treatment.
  5. Recognize and effectively manage common barriers that may disrupt motivation and progress in recovery.
