Learn how to conduct a complete nutritional evaluation of eating disorder symptoms in your clientele
Overview
This 1-hour and 45-minute training will help you better understand the symptoms of eating disorders and accurately assess their presence in your clientele. You will learn to identify red flags, ask the right questions during the initial assessment, and understand the requirements for follow-up to ensure a thorough evaluation of the situation. Various intervention strategies will also be shared to help you address the possible presence of an eating disorder with your clients/patients following the initial assessment, facilitating their engagement in the nutritional treatment process.
Objectives
1.Learn which questions to ask during the nutritional assessment to gain a comprehensive understanding of eating disorder symptoms.
2.Understand when and where to refer clients/patients after the evaluation process (e.g., physician, psychologist).
3.Learn how to explain the potential presence of an eating disorder to clients/patients in a way that encourages their commitment to the nutritional treatment plan.
4.Understand the non-negotiable aspects of nutritional treatment, professional boundaries, and how to communicate these effectively to clients/patients.
